2 killed in Satkhira road mishap

Staff reporter : Two women were killed and four others injured in a road accident in Satkhira on Friday.

The deceased were identified as Nafzila Khatun, 60, hailed from Paikgachha upazila in Khulna, and Asia Begum, 45, from Laksikhola village of the same upazila.

Rafiqul Islam, Ashashuni Police Station Inspector (Investigation), said six passengers were going towards Satkhira town by an easy bike in the morning. When it reached in that area, a pick-up van coming from the opposite direction ran over the easy bike. The two women died on the spot.

The bodies have been sent to Satkhira morgue for autopsy. The injured have been taken to Satkhira Sadar Hospital. The pickup was seized but the driver fled, he added.
