Sun News Desk : At least 9 dengue patients died and 2,617 were hospitalized in the last 24 hours across the country.

The Directorate General of Health Services said this in a press release Thursday.

With the latest death, a total of 1,055 people died of dengue to date this year.

Currently, 9,265 people diagnosed with the mosquito-borne disease are taking treatment at different government and private hospitals in and outside the capital of Dhaka.

Of them, 2,971 are being treated at the facilities in the capital while 6,294 are in other divisions.

As many as 2,16,864 dengue patients were admitted to hospitals across the country since January 1 this year.

Some 2,06,544 out of the hospitalized patients, however, recovered during the period.
