International Desk: This is the first time that any ship with relief has come to the coast of Gaza. The Spanish ship 'Open Arms' arrived off the coast of Gaza on Friday afternoon with 200 tonnes of food.
The BBC reported in a report that the 200 tons of relief sent by the Spanish charity Open Arms, the US-based charity World Central Kitchen and the United Arab Emirates included rice, flour, beans, canned vegetables and canned meat.
Cartons were unloaded from the ship anchored offshore and brought by barge to a temporary jetty constructed of building debris in the Sheikh Azlin neighborhood of Gaza City.
Israeli forces searched the ship off the coast of Cyprus before it left for Gaza, the Israel Defense Forces said.

Relief supplies would normally reach the valley through Gaza's southern Rafah border. Relief supplies to Gaza through the land border are about to come to a standstill following the Israeli military's offensive in Gaza. Some countries, including the United States, have airlifted relief to the valley for some time, but tragically, people have died under the relief sacks.
US President Joe Biden has already announced that the US military will soon build a temporary port to send aid by sea to Gaza.
If this plan to send aid by sea is successful, other international organizations will follow suit in sending aid to Gaza.
