Random shooting in Canadian park: 4 Bangladeshis injured

Sun News Desk: Four Bangladeshis have been injured in the Regent Park area of ​​Toronto, Canada. The condition of one of them is critical, police said. The injured were rushed to the hospital's trauma center for treatment.

The shooting took place in the parking lot of Oak Street adjacent to Regent Park Boulevard and Dandas Street around 12:15 pm on Tuesday, police said.

Debabrata De Tamal, president of the Jalalabad Association of Toronto, said in a Facebook post that Anai Mia, vice-president of the Golapganj Foundation, Mumin Mia of Marhaba Grocery, Sultan Mia and Shattar Mia were injured in the shooting. Among them, Anai Mia's condition is critical. The other three are safe.

Police said, they went to the scene after receiving information that a shooting had taken place in the parking lot of Oak Street adjacent to Regent Park Boulevard and Dandas Street around 12:15 pm on Tuesday. There they saw a Honda Accord with numerous bullet marks. They later rescued the three and sent them to hospital.

Police further said they have collected video footage of the scene. They are looking for two suspects. The suspects are believed to be using a 2014 Toyota Rave Four.

The Jalalabad Association of Toronto and the expatriates living in Canada expressed their displeasure over the incident, They strongly condemned it and demand immediate arrest and trial of the culprits.
