Staff Reporter: School and college students have blocked various roads in the capital today demanding half fare and safe roads for public transport.
They protested by blocking Dhanmondi Road No. 27 in the capital on Sunday (November 28) at noon.
The students in the protest said, "We have been demanding half fare in public transports for several days. But the government is not taking any action. The government is not thinking about us but only the owners of public transport."
Nur Nabi, a student of Ideal College, said, "If the government does not take a quick decision on half fare, we will go for a tough movement. As well as safe roads should be ensured."
Note that bus fares were rescheduled after the government recently increased fuel prices. The students then protested for several days demanding half fare. Meanwhile, after the death of the Notre Dame College student on the road, the students became vocal again. Earlier, students protested and blocked roads in Gulistan, Motijheel and Dhanmondi areas of the capital.
