4 killed as two cars collide

Sun News Desk : Four people have been killed and four others injured in a head-on collision between two private cars in Rupganj of Narayanganj on Tuesday.

Of the deceased, two were identified as Nurul Islam, a businessman and Milon Miah, a private car driver.

The injured were admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) and Kurmitola General Hospital.

Uddipon Bhakta, Purbachal Fire Service Station Officer, said a Kuril Biswaroad-bound private car lost control and collided head-on with another private car coming from Dhaka, leaving eight people injured.

Being informed, members of Purbachal Fire Service and Rupganj Police Station rushed to the spot and recovered them. Later, they brought them to Kurmitola General Hospital where the doctors declared three of them dead.

Lt Col Sabbir Ahmed, Deputy Director of Kurmitola General Hospital, said three died before they were brought to the hospital.

Bachchu Miah, In-charge of DMCH police outpost, said another injured named Milon Miah died while undergoing treatment at the hospital.
