Sports Correspondent: It is finally the turn of the Tigers. Shakib and Tamim are going to get a batting coach. The Bangladesh national cricket team is going to get a new batting coach before the home series against West Indies in January.
However, the Tigers are not getting a long-term batting coach now. For now, it is more likely to hire a coach against the Caribbean and for a tour of New Zealand in February.
That is what Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) cricket management department chief Akran Khan told the media on Thursday (December 31st).
It is heard that John Lewis of England is at the top of the list of BCB's favorites. It is not possible to appoint a long-term batting coach because of Corona and other environmental issues. The batting coach will be appointed before January 10.
Akram Khan said, 'We are trying to get a batting coach for a long time. But here are some things. Kovid-19 has an issue. Besides, the coach does not want to stay here for long. However, we are talking and hopefully the issue of batting coach will be finalized in a day or two.
South Africa's Neil McKenzie stepped down as the Tigers' batting coach on August 21 for personal reasons. The BCB then appointed New Zealand's Craig Macmillan as the batting coach. However, he also resigned before taking charge due to his father's death.
