Jahangir Alam is losing the post of Mayor

Staff Reporter: Jahangir Alam, the former general secretary of Gazipur metropolitan Awami League, is also losing the post of mayor of Gazipur City Corporation after being expelled from Awami League.

Awami League general secretary Obaidul Quader made the remarks in response to a question from reporters after a meeting of the party's central executive committee on Friday (November 19).

The Awami League general secretary said that everyone in the party had demanded maximum disciplinary action against him (Jahangir Alam). That is why Gazipur Mayor Jahangir Alam has been expelled from the post of General Secretary of the Metropolitan Awami League. He has also been expelled from the post of the primary member of the Awami League for life. And if he is expelled from the post of the primary member, he will be expelled for life.

He said legal action could be taken. The decision taken at the meeting will be officially communicated to the Ministry of Local Government.

Obaidul Quader said the meeting took place many days later. Therefore, our party, the president of our party, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina herself has taken this decision after thoroughly researching, examining, verifying and sorting out this issue.
