Sunnews Desk: Foreign Minister. Abdul Momen has called on the United Kingdom to send those convicted of 1971 war crimes who are currently in Britain. back to Bangladesh.
The visiting British Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Lord Ahmed, made the call to meet him at the Foreign Service Academy on Monday (November 16th). This was stated in a press release issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
During the meeting, Lord Ahmed discussed issues related to enhancing trade and investment, closer security cooperation, cyber security and strengthening UK-Bangladesh friendship, including UK assistance in climate projects and quality education for women.
Lord Ahmed is in Bangladesh on a three-day visit to attend the 21st Indian Ocean Rim Association (IORA) cabinet meeting.
The UK Minister of State has congratulated Bangladesh on taking over as the Chairman of the Indian Ocean Rim Association. He also acknowledged Bangladesh's efforts in tackling the Covid-19 pandemic.
Dr. Momen thanked the UK government for removing Bangladesh's name from the travel ban imposed on the Delta variant of the Covid-19.
