Thousands of vehicles stuck in long tailback in Paturia

Own representative, Manikganj: Traffic congestion has increased on Paturia-Daulatdia route. Thousands of vehicles are waiting at Paturia Ghat. Although small cars and transport buses are allowed to cross on a priority basis, the general freight truck crossing has been temporarily suspended.

In the morning, the bus line from Paturia Ghat area crossed the RCL turn. About one and a half hundred transport buses are waiting. In addition, two and a half hundred trucks are waiting at the terminal to cross the river. Meanwhile, the pressure of small vehicles has increased in Ghat No. 5 area. Hundreds of small vehicles are waitingn queues at the ghat area. In order to avoid additional traffic congestion in the ghat area, freight trucks are being kept in serial for 6 km.

Shibalaya police officer in charge (OC) Feroz Kabir said that in order to avoid additional traffic congestion in Paturia Ghat area, ordinary freight trucks have been kept in serial on Uthuli link road. Five hundred trucks are in serial from Uthuli connection to the inner road of Aricha Ghat area.

Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC) Aricha Office Manager (Commerce) said. Salam Hossain said the traffic congestion has increased in the Paturia Ghat area of ​​the Paturia-Daulatdia route. Small cars and transport buses are being transported on priority basis. Ordinary freight trucks will be able to cross when the traffic pressure is reduced. Out of 17 ferries, 16 are plying on this route. Ferry Madhavilata is being repaired at Madhumati -a floating factory, due to a mechanical fault .
