Own Correspondent: Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Moha. Shafiqul Islam said that no one can enter the Shaheed Minar area without a mask on International Mother Language Day.
He said a maximum of five people at the team level and two people at the individual level would be allowed to enter the central Shaheed Minar to pay homage to the Language Movement martyrs.
The DMP commissioner told reporters after overseeing the security arrangements at the central Shaheed Minar on Thursday (February 18) afternoon.
Mentioning that every inch will be monitored by CCTV cameras on 21st February, Shafiqul Islam said that there will be strict surveillance on militant activities even if there is no specific threat around the day. On February 21, the three-tier security system at the Shaheed Minar will remain active. No one wiil be allowed to enter the Shaheed Minar area without mask.
"Under special circumstances, we are going to celebrate International Mother Language Day this time," the DMP commissioner said. That is why a maximum of five people at the political level and two people at the individual level are being requested to come to the Shaheed Minar. We will not be allow more, and not without a mask.
Shafiqul Islam said that maximum security has been ensured for Central Shaheed Minar and surrounding areas marking International Mother Language Day.. In addition to the police, members of the Elite Force Rapid Action Battalion will also be present.
