Malaysia Has Imposed Sanctions On 23 Countries, Including Bangladesh

Staff Correspondent: Citizens of 23 countries, including Bangladesh, are still barred from entering Malaysia due to coronavirus situation. The ban will remain in place until further notice. The Malaysian High Commission in Dhaka said in a statement on Saturday (November 8th).

Citing a report published in a Dhaka newspaper, the Malaysian High Commission explained that 23 countries, including Bangladesh, have the highest incidence of corona virus and that citizens of those countries are still barred from entering Malaysia. However, in case of special case or in case of emergency, he can enter the country with the permission of Malaysian immigration. And for workers whose visas have expired, the company can request the Malaysian authorities if the visa process is resumed.

Countries whose visas are temporarily barred from entering Malaysia are Bangladesh, India, Peru, Colombia, South Africa, Argentina, Mexico, Chile, Iran, Pakistan, Turkey, Germany, Iraq, Philippines, Indonesia, United States, Britain, Brazil, Spain, France, Italy, Saudi Arabia and Russia.

In addition, if a Malaysian citizen returns to his or her home country from these countries, he or she will have to stay in quarantine for 14 days. Earlier, the Malaysian government issued a Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO) restricting the entry of foreign nationals. The term of RMCO has been extended till December 31.
