Workers Returning Abroad Will Be Recognized For Their Skills

Staff Correspondent: Minister for Expatriate Welfare and Overseas Employment Imran Ahmed has said that the government is arranging the certificates of skills acquired by the returning workers. He said that if the workers get recognition for their previously acquired skills, quality labor migration will be ensured and the amount of remittances will also increase.

He made these remarks as the chief guest at the inaugural function of awarding pre-acquired skills certificates to repatriated workers at six technical training centers across the country at 12 noon on Wednesday (November 4). Ahmed Munirush Salehin, General Secretary of the Ministry of Expatriate Welfare and Overseas Employment spoke as a special guest in the presidency of Shamsul Alam, Manpower Employment and Training Bureau Director.

The Minister said that in addition to Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL), many more training programs have been undertaken to increase the overseas employment of skilled workers.

Dr. Ahmed Munirush Salehin said, the workers returning from abroad are being given certificates from the Technical Education Board in recognition of their previously acquired skills. Through this they will get the opportunity of high paid employment at home and abroad. The government is implementing various rehabilitation programs for the socio-economic development of the returning workers.

It is to be noted that the workers returning from abroad who are interested in getting the government certificate have been advised to contact the concerned technical training center and the district manpower employment office.
