Imran Khan's Greetings on the golden jubilee

Staff Correspondent: Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan has sent a message of greetings to Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina congratulating her on the occasions of the Golden Jubilee of Independence and Mujib Borsho. In the message, he said, ""We would like to fortify our existing bonds with brotherly Bangladesh and build new ones for our succeeding generations, as we believe the destinies of our two peoples are intertwined."

The letter sent on the occasion of March 26 reached Dhaka at night, according to the Foreign Office, Bangladesh High Commission in Islamabad. Moreover, the content of the letter has been shared in the WhatsApp group of Pakistan Mission in Dhaka.

"On this occasion, let us renew our resolve to jointly work for a better future for our peoples and closer ties between our two countries. The centenary events to commemorate late prime minister Sheikh Mujibur Rahman are reflective of the deep affection and esteem in which he is held by yourself and the people of Bangladesh," the premier of Pakistan wrote.

Imran further said Pakistan deeply values its fraternal ties with Bangladesh, which are based on "shared history, common faith, and convergent interests in promoting lasting peace and security as well as sustainable prosperity in the region and beyond".

In this letter, inviting Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to visit Pakistan at the earliest convenience, Imran Khan wrote, "This special day in Bangladesh reminds us of the dream of friendship and reunion between the people of the two countries." Pakistan has shown maximum participation in the implementation of this dream.

Expressing interest in further developing the existing relationship with Bangladesh, Imran Khan said in the letter, "We want to leave this bond for our next generation. Since we believe the people of our two countries have the same destination. So let us work together for the future of our people and the friendly relations between the two countries."

He wished his counterpart a long life, health and happiness and prayed for the continued peace, progress and prosperity of Bangladeshis.

On Tuesday PM Hasina wrote a message to Imran, wishing him a quick recovery from Covid-19.
