Staff Reporter: Many of the teachers of MPO registered colleges retire after working as lecturers. Their chances of promotion are also very low. At the same time, there are various complaints about MPO registration.

To fill that gap, senior lecturer posts are being created for higher secondary level teachers. These posts are being created for MPO registered private colleges which are included in the revised policy. The Ministry of Education said that the revised policy will be issued soon.

The Ministry of Education is working to revise the MPO policy to address these issues. There are new posts being created for senior level teachers of MPO registered colleges called Senior Lecturers. Besides, 50 per cent of the posts of college teachers will be created as assistant professors. This will create opportunities for promotion.

According to the revised policy, the entire process of MPO registration will be online based. In case of MPO registration, the age of the institution will not be the main issue - the most important will be the results, the number of students. The new second shift cannot be introduced in technical education institutions. Education Minister Dipu Moni said the policy would be finalized soon.
