19 universities admission test in batch system

Staff Reporter: Admission test will be held in 19 general, science and technology universities of the country this time (2020-2021 academic year) in cluster system. Under this group, three subjects will be examined: humanities, trade and science. There will be direct admission test in these public universities.

Question papers will be prepared based on the syllabus of higher secondary. The decision was taken at an exchange meeting with the vice-chancellors of general, science and technology universities on Tuesday (December 1).

Bangladesh University Grants Commission (UGC) Chairman Prof. UGC member Prof. Dr. Shahidullah chaired the meeting. Md. Sajjad Hossain, Professor. Muhammad Alamgir, Professor. Biswajit Chand and Professor. Md. Abu Taher was present.

At the meeting, the joint convener of the University of Science and Technology and the Vice-Chancellor of Jagannath University, Prof. Mizanur Rahman said, 'The Central Admission Test Committee consisting of the Vice-Chancellors will determine the rules of this batch admission test.

The committee will give a score to the students about the admission test. This group will publish advertisements in the newspapers regarding the admission of students in the university mentioning their respective conditions and demands. Universities will admit students with scores. Therefore, no separate admission test will be taken.

Virtually joining the meeting, UGC chairman Prof Kazi Shahidullah said, "There is no chance for the university to retreat from the cluster admission test due to corona." He urged the vice-chancellors to prepare for the admission test in a direct and easy way by thinking of the students and parents.

It is to be mentioned that last year admission test was held in bachelor system in 8 universities of agriculture. Then on February 26 this year, a policy decision was taken to take admission test in three groups in public universities.
