Staff reporter : The government has decided to procure 1 lakh 70 thousand tons of fertilizer from Canada, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and domestic company Kafco for the current fiscal year.

The approvals came at a meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Government Purchase (CCGP) held on Wednesday, with Finance Minister Abul Hasan Mahmud Ali presiding over it virtually.
Cabinet Division's Coordination and Reforms Secretary Md Mahmudul Hossain Khan said that the fertilizer - 90,000 tons of urea, 40,000 tons of MOP and 40,000 tons DAP - will be procured from Canada, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and local company KAFCO at Tk 632.72 crore.
