We did not invite anyone

Staff reporter : The government did not invite US Assistant Secretary of State Donald Lu, said Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader.

He said these responding to a query from journalists at his Secretariat office on Tuesday.

Quader said "Donald Lu is not even the foreign minister. Why would Bangladesh make a fuss of him. He has come here out of necessity, they have their agenda."

He said "In a relationship, discussions are held on different aspects of it. They come and go as part of their routine. I do not want to discuss this matter. We did not invite him."

Quader also said that "We do not care about any kind of sanctions or visa policies," Quader declared when asked about the political implications of Lu's visit.
