In Tongi, Gazipur, a six foot long Boa Constrictor has been discovererd. Hailing originally from South American countries like Colombia, this snake was found here while raw materials shipped from Colombia were being unloaded here in Anwar Steel Factory.
Feeble from not feeding on anything for 3 to 4 months, the snake has since been handed over to authorities at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Safari Park, located in Gazipur, on June 20 at noon.
The authenticity as to the specie of the snake was confirmed by Tabibur Rahman, officer in charge of the safari park.
Currently receiving treatment for its ailing conditions, the snake is currently residing in the parks’ safe-home.
Administrative manager of Anwar Steel Factory, Mizanur Rahman, informed that the raw materials imported from Colombia took 4 months to reach. It was while unloading the materials, on June 19 that the workers found the snake.
The rescued snake is said to be about 7 months old, weighing in at 4kgs.
