International Desk: At least 40 people were killed in a bomb attack on a group of herdsmen in the border area of Nigeria.

The governor of Nasarawa Abdullahi Sule confirmed this information on Thursday, reports AFP.
Abdullahi Sule said that 40 people were killed on Wednesday's bomb attack in Rukubi, a village bordering Nasarawa and Benue states. No group has yet claimed the responsibility for the attack.

Sule told the country's Arise News Television that earlier there were rumors that the Air Force had carried out the bombing but now we have known that no Air Force aircraft flew over the area.
He also said it was a drone that flew over the area and dropped bombs.

A group representing herdsmen said the bomb was dropped from a Nigerian military aircraft.
