International Desk: North Korea claims to have successfully tested a long-range cruise missile again. The BBC quoted the country's state-run KCNA on Monday.

North Korea's National Defense Science Academy successfully tested more advanced and new long-range cruise missiles last Saturday and Sunday, the report said. The new test missile can hit targets from a distance of one and a half thousand kilometers (930 miles).

Meanwhile, the test does not violate UN Security Council resolutions, but North Korea has already been banned from conducting nuclear tests. They say North Korea is capable of building weapons despite food shortages and the economic crisis.

The report further said that long-range missile tests are important for the security of the state and a strategy to build effective resistance against enemies.

The U.S. military says North Korea continues to develop its military program, which poses a threat to the international community, including its neighbors.
