Babungari got the responsibility of Hathazari Madrasa

Shaikhul Hadith and Nazime Talimat (Director of Education) of Hathazari Madrasa in Chittagong have been made Allama Junaid Babungari, Secretary General of Hifazat-e-Islam.

He was given the new responsibility at a shura meeting at the Madrasa Majlis on Saturday (September 19) night. Besides, a panel of 3 members was formed to manage the madrasa.

At one stage, Allama Shafi's son Anas Madani and his followers became estranged from Babungari, which is known to be close to the newly deceased Allama Shafi. On June 17, Junaid Babungari was removed from the post of assistant director of the madrasa and kept as a general teacher. He had been cornered for so long.

Allama Shafi, the 34-year-old director general of the madrasa, was forced to expel Anas Madani last Thursday in the face of a sudden student protest. He also resigned in the face of the movement the next day. He died a day later.

After the death of Allama Shafi, the followers of Babungari became very influential in Hathazari Madrasa. It is believed that Babungari can also get the responsibility of the president of Hefzat-e-Islam.

It may be mentioned that Allama Junaid Babungari is the secretary general of Hefazat-e-Islam, a popular organization established in 2010. He was imprisoned for some time after the incident at Shapla Chattar on May 5, 2013. After that Allama Shafi's closeness with the government increased but Babungari was in opposition. That is why there is some conflict between them.
