Bank official commits suicide out of remorse

Barisal: Krishi Bank's AGM Hasan ul Zaki (42) has committed suicide due to mental stress after being punished by office work order.

Hasan ul Zakir's main home is in Sonadanga, Khulna. He was working in Barisal. Recently suspended from Krishi Bank.

Kotwali Police Officer-in-Charge (OC) Nurul Islam said his body was recovered from his house on Zia Road in the city on Sunday (September 13th) evening.

Bank employee Golam Kibria said, "I have learned that Hasan ul Zaki has committed suicide due to poisoning."

He said Hasan ul Zaki left Barisal for Khulna on Thursday (September 10th) and returned to the office on Sunday. He later went home around noon. Didn't even eat lunch. Later, Zakir's family members contacted another bank official without getting a call. Later, the officer went to Zakir Zia's house on the road and saw him unconscious through the window. Police later recovered the body and sent it to Shebachim Hospital for autopsy.

OC Nurul Islam said that initially the incident looked like suicide.
