District representative: 3 fish workers of Manpura upazila of Bhola were killed in a truck accident in Chandina of Comilla district. A total of 4 people including the truck driver were killed in this accident. The injured said that 3 out of the 4 people who died are from Manpura Upazila's Dakshin Sakuchia Union.

On Tuesday (March 12) at 5 am on the way from Manpura to Dhaka via Noakhali to sell fish, the fish carrying truck overturned when it hit another truck standing next to Elliotganj CNG pump in Chandina Upazila of Comilla.
Sources say that 6 businessmen of Manpura upazila of Bhola were going to Dhaka via Chairman Ghat of Noakhali to sell fish last Monday (March 11) evening. While passing from Noakhali to Chandina upazila of Comilla, the fish laden truck hit the truck standing next to Elliotganj CNG pump from behind. The injured said that the fish-laden truck overturned and got buried under the fish basket, killing 3 fishermen and the driver on the spot. Also, 5 more fish workers in the truck were injured by falling under the fish basket.

The victims of the truck accident are Aktar Hossain (38), a resident of Ward No. 6 of South Sakuchia Union of Manpura Upazila, Md. Suman (28), Md. Hasim Patwari, Monir Hossain (35). The house of 3 deceased people is in Rahmanpur village of South Sakuchia Union of Upazila. Apart from this, the house of deceased truck driver Rafiqul Islam is located in Satkhira district.
At this time, 3 people injured in the accident were sent to Dhaka for advanced treatment with first aid at Chandina Hospital.
Officer-in-charge (OC) of Elliotganj police station Manjurul Alam confirmed this matter of the accident.

He also said that the Dhaka-bound fish truck from Noakhali hit the truck standing on the side of the road in Belars area of Chandina and overturned. 3 workers including the driver in the truck died on the spot and the injured have been sent to Dhaka for better treatment.
