3 killed Munshiganj lightning strikes

Sun News Desk: Three people have died in lightning strikes in Tongibari upazila of Munshiganj.

The incident took place on Saturday afternoon around 2pm.

The deceased are Rabiul, Sanjida and Ramim. Their age is between 10 and 12 years.

Local Nazrul Islam Bepari said that Sanjida is the daughter of Saiful Molla of Sonarang village of Tongibari upazila and Ramim is the son of Kamal of the same village. Sanjida and Ramim studied at the local madrasa. On the Madrasah vacation, they visited to Uncle house in Dhamaran village last Thursday.

Later on Saturday at around 1 they went to take water lily on Marshy land next to the house. The four children were injured by lightning around 1:30 p.m.

Later, when three children were taken to Munshiganj Sadar Hospital, the doctor on duty declared all three dead.

SM Ferdous, the doctor on duty at Munshiganj Sadar Hospital, said that three children were brought to the hospital around 2:20p.m. They were all died.

UP Chairman of Shimulia Union, Anisur Rahman, said that three children died due to lightning in my area. Their bodies are in Sadar Hospital.
