3 killed in bus-pickup clash

Sun News Desk: Three people have been killed and 10 others injured after a collision between a bus and mini-pickup van at Chakaria upazila in Cox's Bazar on Saturday.

The deceased were identified as Nazrul Islam, 34, and Mohammad Hamid Ullah, 29, and Jahangir Alam, 25.

An eyewitness said the accident took place when the pickup van was trying to overtake a motorcycle on the highway.

A mini-pickup van was heading towards Lohagara. When it reached Aziznagar area, the vehicle collided with a bus carrying BGB members. Three died on the spot.

Chiringa Highway Police Outpost SI Khokon Rudra said injured 10 were sent to Chattogram Medical College Hospital.

However, police seized both the vehicles.
