According to NCID, they recovered drugs worth 21.64 lakh ringgit (Malaysian currency) during the operation. NCID director Datuk Rajaruddin Hussain told a news conference that 12 suspects were arrested in raids in eight different areas of Kedah and Penang on Friday. Their age is between 22 to 58 years.
He said the ringleader was a 56-year-old man. This gang started working from the beginning of this year. Hussein said the drugs were believed to have come from a neighboring country and were to be supplied to drug traffickers in northern and southern Malaysia.
