2 million doses of vaccine are coming from India on Thursday

Own Correspondent: 2 million doses of Corona Vaccine received as a gift from India will arrive in Bangladesh on Thursday (January 21) at noon. The first consignment of 30 million dose purchased vaccines will arrive on January 25.

Health Secretary Abdul Mannan told a news conference at Ganobhaban on Wednesday (January 20th).

The secretary said, 'These vaccines will arrive in Bangladesh on a flight of Air India at half past noon. From there the vaccine will be kept in the warehouse of EPI in Tejgaon. 6 million will be vaccinated in the first month.

The press conference was attended by Chief Coordinator of the Prime Minister's Office Juena Aziz, Senior Secretary of the ICT Department, Director General of the Department of Health Prof Dr ABM Khurshid Alam. Detailed information about corona vaccine management was given at the press conference.

The secretary of the health service department said that these vaccines will be tested on January 26 or 27. About 400 to 500 people from Dhaka Medical, Kurmitola General Hospital, Mugda General Hospital and Kuwait Friendship Hospital will be vaccinated. According to the protocol of the World Health Organization, after a weeklong observation the vaccination program will roll out all over the country. . Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate the nationwide vaccination program.

He added that 6 million vaccines will come in the first month.

Health Minister Jahed Malek said about 2 lakh people will be vaccinated on a daily basis. The Health Ministry has made elaborate arrangements for the vaccination programme with more 7 thousand teams of health workers are being deployed all over the country. Training programmes are being conducted for them, he added.
