International Desk: A boat carrying Rohingya is believed to have sunk after drifting at sea for several weeks. The boat was carrying at least 180 Rohingya who left Bangladesh and all are feared dead as a result of the boat capsizing, the United Nations refugee agency (UNHCR) said.

Citing unconfirmed reports, the agency said the "unseaworthy" boat probably sank after it went missing in the sea, reports Reuters.
According to the report, after leaving Bangladesh last November, the vulnerable boat of the Rohingya was stuck in the sea for several weeks. That boat carrying at least 180 Rohingya is believed to have sunk earlier this month.

The boat carrying the Rohingyas may have sunk after disappearing at sea, UNHCR said.
In a message on Twitter on Saturday, the United Nations refugee agency wrote that "Relatives (of Rohingya) have lost contact." Those who were last contacted are also believed to have died.

More than 1 million Muslim-majority Rohingya refugees from Myanmar live in overcrowded camps in Bangladesh. Among them are millions of refugees who fled after a brutal crackdown by the Myanmar military in 2017.
In Buddhist-majority Myanmar, most Rohingya Muslims are denied citizenship and seen as infiltrators, illegal immigrants from South Asia.

Last week, two Rohingya activist groups in Myanmar said 20 people died of hunger or thirst on a boat that had been stuck at sea for two weeks of the coast of India. The boat was reportedly in Malaysian waters with at least 100 people on board.
