International Desk: At least 15 people were killed ‍and 40 others were wounded in an attack by gunmen on a shrine in central Iran.

This terrible attack happened on Wednesday evening. A woman and two children were among deads, according to Al-Jazeera.

Shah Cherag shrine was attacked by three people while two attackers were arrested and one escaped. Efforts are underway to arrest him.

We were just getting ready for prayer. Then I heard the sound of gunshots. I escaped by another route. But after a while I realized that my body was bleeding, said an eyewitness.

Another witness said that the shooting were from the road. The attackers were shooting whoever they get. I saw people were getting shot dead in front of my eyes.

Iran's state news agency IRNA described the attack as a "terrorist attack".
