Sun News Desk : At least 12 people sustained burn injuries in a gas cylinder explosion in a fishing trawler in Cox's Bazar on Friday.

Among the injured, 10 have been identified as Ayub, 31, Dil Mohammad, 30, Rafique, 25, Monir, 26, Shafiqul, 26, Arman, 20, Rahim, 37, Rahimullah, 30, Shahid, 35, and Usman, 19 who live in Kutubdiapara and Samitipara under No. 1 ward of the district town.
Mostaq Ahmed said, Cox's Bazar district fishing boat owners association's organizing secretary, said the incident happened in a fishing trawler in the area adjacent to 6 No. Jetty of the town around 8am but he could not say anything about the causes of the explosion.

After the incident, the injured were taken to Cox's Bazar Sadar Hospital.
Dr Ashiqur Rahman, the hospital resident medical officer (RMO), said 12 people were brought here with burn injuries and after primary treatment, 10 of them were sent to Chattogram Medical College Hospital for better treatment as their body's around 70 percent were burnt.

Mohammed Rafiqul Islam, Sadar Police Station officer in-charge, said police went to the spot and were looking into the incident.
