The 4.6 magnitude earthquake was felt at 1:13pm on Tuesday.
The epicenter of the earthquake was 18 km away from Jaintiapur in Sylhet.

However, no damage or casualty was reported immediately.
Earlier on June 16, a mild earthquake was felt in Sylhet, Moulvibazar and Sunamganj.
