Sun News Desk : A court in Joypurhat sentenced 11 people to death for the murder of a schoolboy in 21 years ago. The court also fined them Tk 50,000 each.

Judge Abbas Uddin of Additional Judge Court-2 delivered the verdict on Wednesday.

The convicts are- Bedarul Islam Bedin, and Rana, residents of Dewanpara, Sarwar Rawshan alias Sumon of Shantinagar, Moshiur Rahman Ershad alias Babu of Arafatnagar, Monwar Hossain alias Mansur, and Tutul of South Dewanpara, Nazrul Islam of Tegharbisha, Shahi, and Rahim of Debipur Kazipara, Sujon of Debipur Mondalpara in the district town, and Dablu from Dhurail village in Dhamairhat upazila of Naogaon.

The case statement said the accused picked up Moazzem Hossain, son of Fazlur Rahman, a resident of Pramanikpara in Joypurhat district town, from Chitra Cinema Hall and hit him with sharp weapons and sticks on June 28, 2022, leaving him critically injured.

Later, he succumbed to his injuries in a hospital.
