Two killed in bus accident

Sun News Desk: Two horse-riding carriage riders were killed and 2 more people were injured in a bus accident in Tangail's Kalihati on Friday.

The deceased are- Bablu Poddar, 65, of Sherpur upazila in Bogra and Yunus Ali, 55, of Poalgatha village of Shahjanpur upazila. The victims were returning to Bogra after buying horses from Jamalpur.

According to the police, some of them were returning home after buying a horse from a market in Jamalpur. At that time, when the horse carriage was crossing bridge in Hatia area, a bus hit them. The two passengers died on the spot. Two more were injured in the incident. There were rescued and admitted to Tangail General Hospital.

Nazmul Hasan, Sub-Inspector (SI) of Bangabandhu Setu East Police Station said that the process of handing over the bodies of the victims to their relatives is going on after the legal process. Efforts are on to identify the bus.
