Staff Reporter: President Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina paid tribute to the martyrs of the liberation war of 1971 with flowers at the National Memorial in Savar. On the occasion of the Great Victory Day, they laid a wreath at 6:28 am on Thursday (December 16).
First, President Abdul Hamid laid flowers at the Shaheed Bedi. Later, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina laid a wreath. At that time, the President and the Prime Minister observed silence in memory of the martyrs of the liberation war of 1971.
After the Speaker of Parliament. Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury and Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain paid homage to the martyr.
Also present at the time were Bangabandhu's daughter Sheikh Rehana, Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haque, Information and Broadcasting Minister Dr. Hasan Mahmud, GOC of 9th Infantry Division, Divisional Commissioner of Dhaka Division, Deputy Commissioner of Dhaka District and others.
On behalf of the party, Awami League President Sheikh Hasina paid homage to the martyrs. Also present at the time were Awami League presidium members Matia Chowdhury, Abdur Razzak, Jahangir Kabir Nanak, Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haque, Information and Broadcasting Minister Dr. Top leaders of the party including Hasan Mahmud.
