International Desk: The government of the Middle Eastern country Kuwait has abruptly resigned. The Kuwaiti government submitted the resignation letter to the country's ruling emir on Monday (November 8th) amid a standoff with opposition lawmakers.
The matter has been confirmed by the state news agency Kuna.
According to a report in Kunar, Amir Sheikh Nawaf Al Ahmed Al Sabah has accepted a written resignation letter from Sheikh Sabah.
Local newspapers Al-Qabas and Al-Rai reported that this was expected to end the stalemate with opposition lawmakers. Which was hampering the country's financial reforms.
The government led by Prime Minister Sheikh Sabah al-Khalid al-Sabah resigned for the second time this year in a dispute with the elected parliament. The Kuwaiti government has submitted its resignation letter to Emir Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.
