Staff Correspondent: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has paid homage to the portrait of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at Dhanmondi No. 32 on the occasion of Great Victory Day.
He paid his respects at 7:30 am on Thursday (December 16). After that the leaders and workers of Awami League and its affiliated organizations paid their respects.
Earlier, at 6:30 am, the President and the Prime Minister paid homage to the heroic martyrs of the Liberation War at the National Memorial.
At that time, the President and the Prime Minister stood in silence for a while in memory of the heroic martyrs of the liberation war. A well-equipped contingent of the army, navy and air force then saluted the state. The bugle is played with a sad melody.
Bangabandhu daughter Sheikh Rehana was present during the wreath-laying ceremony, the Speaker of Parliament Dr. Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury, Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain, Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haque, Information and Broadcasting Minister Dr. Hasan Mahmud, GOC of 9th Infantry Division, Divisional Commissioner of Dhaka Division and Deputy Commissioner of Dhaka District.
