Staff Reporter: The cold wave has started in the country from Friday (December 18). The spread and intensity of the cold wave increased on Saturday. This cold spell may continue for the next 4 to 5 days. Then the temperature may rise slightly. However, the country is unlikely to be completely free of cold spells in December. The meteorological office said in a forecast for the next 24 hours from 6 pm on Saturday (December 19) that a mild to moderate cold spell is expected over Mymensingh, Rajshahi and Rangpur divisions including Tangail, Faridpur, Gopalganj, Srimangal, Jessore, Kushtia, Barisal and Bhola.
The weather may change slightly in the next 2 days after these 24 hours. The temperature may rise in the first half of the next 5 days. In this regard, meteorologist Abdur Rahman Khan said, 'On December 24, 25 or 26, the temperature may rise a little. It will not increase that much. As it has decreased step by step in a few days, it may increase by one or two degrees.
Abdur Rahman Khan further said, 'The cold wave will actually continue. Today, the temperature has been recorded at 6.6 degrees Celsius in some places, 7 degrees in some places. If it rises one or two degrees in these places, it will still be in the cold. In some places the cold wave may go away, but in some places it will stay.
There will be cold spell this month, cold spell may continue next January. "It is more likely that the cold snap will be over." The forecast for the next 24 hours also said the weather across the country could remain dry. From midnight to morning, moderate to heavy fog may fall in some parts of the river basin of the country and light to moderate fog elsewhere in the country.
Nighttime temperatures may drop slightly across the country and daytime temperatures may remain almost unchanged.
