Sun News Desk: The tea garden workers Withdrew their ongoing indefinite strike on Saturday afternoon after their daily wage had been increased by Tk 25 to Tk 145.

The decision was taken in a meeting among higher officials of the government, officials of the Labor Department, garden owners, and tea workers in Moulvibazar's Sreemangal this afternoon.
Tea Workers Union's acting general secretary Nripen Pal said, "We are withdrawing our strike at the assurance of the prime minister. Our wage has been fixed at Tk 145 raising by Tk 25. Besides, the prime minister will sit with us after visiting India. So, we are withdrawing our strike for the time being at her assurance."

Earlier, From August 13, the workers of 231 tea gardens of the country continued an indefinite strike for the eighth day for the realisation of their demands. They were holding rallies and protests in different parts of the country.
