Sun News Desk: Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC) has increased the fare for its passenger ships and ferry services by 20 percent respectively amid the fuel price hike.

The raised fares will come into effect from Thursday (August 18), BIWTC director (commerce) SM Ashiquzzaman confirmed on Tuesday.
he said, "The fare of our ferries and ships have been adjusted following a rise in fuel oil prices. This will come into effect from August 18".

Earlier, the corporation increased the fare for its ferries and passenger ships by 20 percent with effect from June 19.
