staff Correspondent, Barisal: A fake lawyer named Kaniz Johra has been sent to jail in a case filed in Barisal alleging fraud. He was produced in court on Sunday (November 15th) and ordered to be sent to jail.

Earlier on Saturday evening, SI Quddus of Kotwali Model Police Station arrested him from Paresh Sagar Math area of ​​Barisal city.

On September 25, Nasreen Akhter, a resident of Rupatali Bashundhara Housing, filed a case against Kaniz Johra, a resident of CNDB Road, Barisal.

In the statement of case, Nasreen Akhtar said, "A year ago, the two of us met at the Barisal-bound Sundarbans-11 launch." At that time Kaniz Johra introduced herself as a lawyer of the High Court and informed me that she did not have any sister. She called me sister and took my mobile number. From then on, he kept in touch on the phone almost all the time. At one point hope started going to my house in Barisal and business temptation showed. In the meantime, Kaniz unknowingly took a check of Agrani Bank in my name (whose account number is 0200004041945, check number -023656). When he asked to return the check, he said, "There will be a business agreement, so I will need to sign 4 stamps." Kaniz later took my signature on a white stamp threatening to harm my children. He later threatened to get involved in various cases if he wanted to return the check.

Meanwhile, on September 3, he took Tk 6 lakh from me at different times saying that he would get bail in a CR case. But since he did not appear in court on the date of the case on September 6, I understand that he is not a lawyer. Later I came to know that Kaniz lawyer is an identity fraudster and an active member of the fraud ring. He is cheating himself in different parts of the country with Niloy, Kaniz, Surma, Ratna and Tama.

By making good relations with different men, he calls them and demands money by undressing them, otherwise he threatens to make those pictures viral. Earlier, in a case filed in a Dhaka court, the cheating woman, who introduced herself as a lawyer, was jailed for several months.

Barisal Kotwali Model Police Station SI Quddus, who arrested the accused Kaniz Johra, said he was arrested from Paresh Sagar Math area on Saturday evening after filing a case on fraud charges. After his arrest, Kaniz admitted to the police that he was not a lawyer.

State counsel Jahangir Hossain said Kaniz Johra was not a lawyer, while he was posing as a High Court lawyer. By cheating in this way, he has taken lakhs of rupees from the common people.
