Staff Reporter: Irfan Selim, son of MP Haji Selim, and his bodyguard Zahid have been taken into RAB custody, said Lt Col Ashiq Billah, Director of RAB's legal and media wing.

He told reporters on Monday (October 26th) afternoon that Irfan Selim had not been arrested.

He said there were reports of specific allegations against Mohammad Irfan Selim. As a result, RAB members are conducting raids on his house. The house was surrounded by RAB expeditions. There are members of RAB's Executive Magistrate, RAB's Intelligence Unit, RAB-3 and 10 Battalion.

"We have taken Mohammad Irfan Selim and his bodyguard Zahid into RAB custody," he said. They have not yet been shown arrested. It is usually advisable to keep up with the executive magistrate when conducting a house raid. That is why our magistrate is also present.

A team of RAB started searching the house of Chan Sardar at 12:30 pm on Monday to arrest Haji Selim's son.

Lieutenant Wasim, the victim of the beating of a naval officer in Dhanmondi on Monday (October 26) morning, filed a case against four people, including Irfan Selim, at Dhanmondi police station. Police arrested the driver immediately after the case.

According to the case statement, after Irfan's car hit Wasim, a naval officer stopped Wasim on the side of the road and stopped in front of the car. Introduce yourself. He then went out and killed Wasim and abused his wife in obscene language. They beat Wasim and left him in a bloody state. He was later rescued and taken to Anwar Khan Model Hospital.
