Saurabh was rushed to hospital on Saturday (January 2nd) morning after experiencing chest pains. The 48-year-old former India captain is in stable condition, hospital authorities said. He is undergoiung primary angioplasty, after an ECG showed 'hyperacute ST segment elevation in interior leads and lateral leads'.
A hospital source told The Indian Express, "Sourav has not been feeling well since last night. But on Saturday he went to exercise as per his morning routine and suddenly started having dizziness. Maybe it's because of his heart or some other problem'.He was rushed to Wooodlands Hospital at 1 pm.
Mamata Banerjee, the West Bengal Chief Minister in twiter wished the former captain speedy recovery, 'My thoughts and prayers are with him and his family'.
A board of specialist doctors has already been formed and they informed that he is stable and responding well to treatment.. A cardiology specialist from SSKM Hospital has also been provided for his treatment.
