Second shipment of 6.5 million Chinese Vaccine arrived in Turkey on Monday

International Desk: Second shipment of 6.5 million doses of corona vaccine made by China's Sinovac Biotech have reached in Turkey on Monday.

Turkey received the vaccine on Monday (January 25). Earlier, the country received 3 million doses of the vaccine in the first phase. Reuters quoted various media outlets, including CNN.

Turkey started vaccination program after receiving the doses in the first stage. According to the country's health ministry, about 1.025 million people have been inoculated so far. Most of them are health workers and senior citizens.

According to Turkish state television TRT Huber, Turkey will receive a total of 10 million vaccines in the second phase. Among them, 6.5 million vaccines arrived at Istanbul airport on a Turkish Airlines flight from Beijing on Monday morning.

Turkey started vaccination rollout in the middle of this month. 6 lakh people were vaccinated in just first two days. However, the pace slowed down later when vaccinations were started outside health care workers. After receiving the vaccines, experts will now examine them.

This will take about two weeks. The vaccines will then be delivered. In Turkey, more than 2.4 million people have been infected with corona so far and 25,073 people have died in Covid-19.
