Sun News Desk : Former Jubo League leader Ismail Hossain Chowdhury Samrat has returned home from India after taking treatment, his lawyer informed this to the High Court today.

Samrat's lawyer Advocate Mansurul Huq Chowdhury informed the HC that his client Samrat, who went to Kolkata in India on July 15, returned home on July 24.
The hearing on the case may be held today befoe the HC bench of Justice Md Nazrul Islam Talukder and Justice Khizir Hayat.

On August 22 last year, Dhaka's Special Judge Court-6's judge Al Asad Md Asifuzzaman granted bail to Samrat after a hearing in the case.
Several conditions were also imposed on Samrat regarding his bail. The conditions were: Samrat will have to surrender his passport to court, and he will not be able to go abroad with the court's permission. Being freed on bail, Samrat left the hospital on August 26 last year.

On November 12, 2019, the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) deputy director Md Jahangir Alam filed a case against Samrat for accumulating the illegal wealth worth Tk 2,94,80,087 beyond his known sources of income.
Investigating the case, the ACC deputy director Md Jahangir Alam submitted a chargesheet against Samrat to the court on November 26, 2020.

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested Samrat from Chouddagram in Cumilla in October 7, 2019 for his involvement in Casino business.
