Sun News Desk : Russian State Atomic Energy Corporation 'Rosatom' Director General Alexey Likhachev on Monday said fuel for Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant will arrive in the country in September next.

He said this while paying a country call on Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at the latter's official residence Ganabhaban. PM's Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim briefed reporters after the meeting.
"The work of Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant (RNPP) has progressed overcoming hundreds of obstacles and nuclear fuel for this plant will arrive in Bangladesh in September," Alexey Likhachev was quoted as saying.

During the meeting, the Rosatom Director General apprised the prime minister of the overall progress of RNPP.
PM Hasina thanked all the concerned for advancing the work of RNPP despite the Covid-19 pandemic and the global crisis.

She also expressed her gratitude to Russia for providing technology and financial assistance.
