RMG workers block road

Sun News Desk: Garments workers blocked a road in Bananni area of the capital today's morning in a protest after a female worker got injured when a bus hit her.

The injured was identified as Nurun Nahar Begum, a worker of Apparel Industries Limited.

According to eyewitnesses, the accident happened at Kakoli in Banani area of the capital around 8am Saturday when a bus hit Nurun Nahar while she was crossing the road and dragged her to Sainik Club rail-crossing. The injured was taken to Kurmitola General Hospital.

Jobaydul Islam, Sub-inspector of Banani Police Station, said due to the blockade traffic movement on the both sides of the road was halted for hours, causing suffering to the commuters. Later, police took the situation under control. Traffic movement returned to normal around 10:30am.
