Sun News Desk : Awami League's peace rally began near the south gate of National Mosque Baitul Mukarram today around 2:30pm.

Dhaka City (North and South units) AL organised the rally and protesting against BNP-Jamaat's "terrorism, militancy, anarchy and continued anti-state conspiracy". Leaders and activists of the party started thronging the venue since 1:30pm.
Strict security measures have been taken centring the rally and vehicular movement from Gulistan police box intersection to GPO intersection has been suspended since 1:30pm.

Speaking at the rally, Office Secretary of Bangladesh Awami League and Special Assistant to the Prime Minister, Barrister Biplab Barua, said BNP's one-point demand is to burn people alive and overthrow the elected government.
Among others, AL presidium members Abdur Rahman, Zahangir Kabir Nanak, Advocate Quamrul Islam, Joint general secretary AFM Bahauddin Nasim are present at the rally.
