7 lakh Japanese vaccines have reached Dhaka

Diplomatic Correspondent: 6 lakh 17 thousand 60 doses of vaccine have reached Dhaka from Japan under Covax. On Tuesday (August 3) afternoon, a Japanese plane arrived in Dhaka at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport with the vaccines. Earlier, a Nippon Airways flight from Narita Airport in Japan left for Bangladesh.

Health and Family Welfare Minister Zahid Malek was present at the airport.

This is the third shipment of the coronavirus-resistant Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine from Japan.
State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shahriar Alam said in a Facebook status on Monday (August 2nd) evening that the consignment had left Japan. He wrote, "Today, another 6 lakh 17 thousand Oxford vaccines from Japan have left for Dhaka a little earlier."

The Bangladesh Embassy in Tokyo has also confirmed the sending of the third consignment of vaccines from Japan. A statement from the embassy on Monday said the third shipment of AstraZeneca from Japan had left for Dhaka. The shipment is coming on the cargo plane (ANA) of All Nippon Airlines. This consignment contains 6 lakh 17 thousand 60 doses of AstraZeneca vaccine. The consignment reached Cathay Pacific via Hong Kong.

The embassy said the plane left Termina No. 1 at Narita Airport at 9:21 pm local time in Japan on Monday night.

Japan is vaccinating Bangladesh with 3 million doses of estrogen through CoVAX. More than one million vaccines have reached Dhaka in two shipments from the country.

Japan is vaccinating Bangladesh with AstraZeneca under the platform CoVAX, which has been set up to ensure coronary vaccination on a fair basis around the world.

Bangladesh bought 34 million doses of the vaccine from the Serum Institute of India. After giving 6 million doses of vaccine in two phases, the serum could not give the rest due to the ban imposed by the Indian government.

Due to the supply crisis, not everyone who took the first dose was given a second dose. The second dose has been given to the patients since Sunday due to the arrival of AstraZeneca vaccine from Japan.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Japan will vaccinate 11 million astragenera for 15 countries. From there, the East Asian country will give 3 million astragenera vaccines to Bangladesh in stages.

Although the vaccine crisis has been created in the country from time to time, the situation is now much better. Vaccines are coming from Chinese synopharms. In addition, modern and Pfizer vaccines are coming from the United States under Covax.
