Staff Reporter: A Dhaka court has set a new date of March 4 for the submission of investigation report in the case lodged over the murder of Maulana Nurul Islam Faruki.

The report was scheduled to be submitted on Wednesday (January 26). But Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Rajesh Chowdhury set a new date as the investigating agency failed to submit the CID report.

Islamic scholar and TV personality Mawlana Nurul Islam Faruki was brutally killed at his 174 East Razabazar home in the capital on August 27, 2014,

On that day, after Esha prayers, six or seven youths stormed into the house and slit his throat. They confined three members of the family including his wife and son in a seperate room.

His son Faisal Faruki filed a murder case with Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station against eight to 10 accused.
